Bowl for Kids' Sake

This post is long overdue, but it was an important event that I wanted to capture on the blog for later reference. Chuck's agency's biggest fundraiser, the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids' Sake, was March 1st. The event challenges community businesses, families, churches, and civic organizations to form bowling teams and raise money for the cause of helping children reach their potential through mentoring partnerships with caring adults. He did a great job of soliciting teams and encouraging competition throughout the community. The teens from Journey of Faith came out to volunteer, and several adults joined to form the Journey of Faith team. The picture below is just part of the team...the trophy is proof that our team raised the most in the Church category. Although it was a lot of work, it was both fun and successful.

This weekend we'll both be working my agency's biggest fundraiser, Wrapped Up In Ribbons, an auction gala event that raises money for direct services for cancer patients in our community. It's always a fun and exciting day. The last few days I've felt crummy...upper respiratory thing that's going around...so I'm hoping that I'll be all better by then b/c it'll be at least a 14 hour day! All for a good cause though, and it's always a fun time.
