Winterfest 2009

This past weekend we took at trip to Gatlinburg for Winterfest 2009. As always, it was encouraging and uplifting with wonderful praise and worship, fun comedy, great skits, and excellent Bible teaching. Sure it's a teen event, but I always feel like I get so much out of it as well.

This year's theme focused on Loving God and Loving Others, centering on Jesus' teaching of the greatest command in Matthew. I am thankful that God's simple message was conveyed in such a powerful way so that teens are learning the "basics" in a way that will cause them to impact others around them and the world in such a powerful way.

Another reason I always enjoy the weekend is because Meghan and Michael have been able to join us the past few years. In addition to everything else fun, we get to hang out with two of my favorite people in the world! A quick shout out to Rick and Amanda though who were unable to come this year...they have a newborn at home!
