Real Vacation...Here We Come!

Tonight we did something we've never done before...book a cruise! In August my mom turns 50, and last year she let us know that she wanted the six of us (us, them, and my sister and her hubby) to go on a cruise together. She thought it'd be a great way to celebrate, and it will be the first big family vacation we will have taken. I am definitely looking forward to it!



We are leaving a little bit early so we can visit our friend Luke who just moved to San Diego a few months ago. Our only trip to CA was a couple of years ago when we went to the Pepperdine Lectureships in Malibu, so we're looking forward to exploring some before we embark the ship.

We'll be sailing on the Holland America cruise line. According to the reports on CruiseCritics.com, it sounds like it will be a great ship! Anyone have any cruising tips?
