sick baby and a day for firsts

Today I worked at the office and mom had Salem with her. Salem has a cold. Again. A bad one. You know, hacking cough and all. She actually has a prescription for it this time. Thankfully we're not dealing with ear infections (yet), but poor little thing just doesn't feel good. Good thing the medicine makes her hyper and cheers her up a bit. But, generous little thing as she is, she shared her virus bug with both Chuck and my mom. Wasn't that sweet of her?

Anyway, back to today. Mom kept her today and she and my dad went to run some errands. After making all the needed stops, they went by the park. Salem loves to swing, so swing they did. The "first" for today though is that she learned how to climb steps and slide down the slide at the park. She is getting to be such a big girl and not a baby anymore. She'll always be my baby of course, but her personality is budding quickly. I feel like this has happened overnight lately. She's quite the determined child and I can already tell she's going to push the limits!

She's definitely a daddy's girl. She's "helping" daddy learn how to play his new drums that he got with his Christmas money this year. She loves to "bang on me drums all day" :)

Check this out! She also thinks that the bookcase is her personal toy shelf, especially since at the moment it's in the office/playroom. That is soon to change though since every 30 seconds we're having to redirect her attention from the shelf of books to her toys. I just love that her favorite book to take off the shelf is Chuck's "Personality Theories" book. Too funny!

Wow, can't believe she's climbing steps and sliding! Brecken swung in a baby swing on our friend's playground on Wednesday for the first time.
