Tonight Salem is sleeping in her crib for the first time. She's slept there for cat naps during the day, but tonight after church we went ahead and laid her down in the crib to see how she'd do. So far, so good. I'm not even sure she notices that she's not in the same room as us...I think it's going to be more of a transition for me than for her!
In addition to the crib transition, she's also learned a new trick - blowing bubbles! I wish I could figure out how to post video clips because I have a cute one of her demonstrating this, but I still haven't gotten it worked out yet, so that'll have to wait until I have time to figure it out.
In another realm of transitions, my transition from full time to part time work has gone well. I am working two full days at the office and one day from home. Salem is pretty good about entertaining herself with her bouncy seat, swing, and crib mobile in between cuddling with me and nursing. Thanks to some well designed nursing pillows, I'm able to nurse her and type at the same time. Woo hoo for multi-tasking! Chuck was home today so he helped out with her too. Plus, Salem decided to take a real nap today (not just a cat nap), so I had more uninterupted time than normal. I'm definitely not regretting switching to part time. I would just hate to be away from her for five days a week all day long! As it is, I miss her when I'm gone the two days I'm at the office all day. Thankfully she's with my mom though, so I know she's having a great time with her "Nani".
Salem demonstrated her "big girl" qualities in another way this past week...she slept through the night! One night it was 7 hours straight and the next it was 6 hours straight. We couldn't believe it! She's finally up to almost 11 lbs, so she's big enough to be able to sleep that long without waking up. So far, she's reverted back to waking up two or three times during the night, but we're hoping for more of the longer stretches to become her new "normal" soon!

I am soo glad she is being a good girl for you. Sounds like work is going good for you. I wish i could keep this schedule forever, but oh well. yes the crib transition is more for the mama for sure. I don't want Zach to move to the crib! :( Anyway, I am glad nursing is going better for you. It is what it is! I think Salem and Zach are almost the same size and he is doing the sleeping off and on during the night (one night 6 hours straight the next every 3 to 4 hours). I love that your mom is keeping Salem how great for her!
Yay for sleeping through the night a couple times! She's going to be so big by the time I see her again... :(
